Thank you so much for all your sweet comments. Grandpa Joe's caring spirit will remain in our hearts forever. And we shall go on knowing that he lived a blessed life. He loved much and was loved in return. He was indeed a great man. Somehow it has been hard to get back to normalcy this week. We have another family member battling cancer and a dear, dear person in my life is also having to face a similar challenge. I keep them both in prayer...that just about all I can do. Celebrate their life and pray for them. Make sure they know how much I care.
My dad used to talk about the importance of showing our care for our loved ones "en vida," meaning while they are alive. He used to say there was no sense in bringing them flower after they were gone. What for? They don't need flowers in heaven. God has plenty for them. But for those family members and friends and neighbors that we are blessed with in this journey of life, we must make sure to tell them often how much we love them. And bring them flowers. En vida, hermano, en vida.
I hope I can live up to that. I hope I can somehow live like my father always did. Loving every person, celebrating their every success, rejoicing with them and sharing lovingly. I don't think I ever saw my father angry at anyone, except at injustice or cruelty. He always looked for the good in people. He looked for and certainly found the goodness in life. A great example indeed.
And well, I did a photo-shoot after work today. A totally adorable couple. A really, really cute pair. I was having photography withdrawals so I am so happy to have gotten the chance to take these pictures tonight.
Here are a few of my favorite shots from this session.
